These photos were sent to us by Army 1st Lt. Jonathan Walker, who spent
one year with the 32nd Cavalry Regiment of the 101st Airborne Division at
Combat Outpost Pirdle-King, located in Kunar Province, Afghanistan, near
the border with Pakistan.  The COP has no running water, no chow hall, and
no permanent buildings.  The men are housed in 20 foot shipping containers,
6 men per container.  Our unit sent several care packages at Christmas,
each containing a Holiday Stocking.
It's always a good day when a care package arrives from home!
And the stocking was hung
by the chimney with care...
